Dramatic F1 European Grand Prix

By The Wheel Master

Formula 1 European Grand Prix in Valencia finished with drama, action and scandals as if it wanted to compete with the FIFA World Cup.

The big event must be the airborne terror of Mark Webber of our sister team Red Bull. That was a hell of Flip! (click here to see yourself how terrifying it looked) . The car took flight after it clipped the rear wheel of Heikki Kovaleinen’s Lotus in a failed overtaking effort. The vehicle went upside down but quickly landed right side up again and stalled by the safety barriers to the great relief of Webber, and indeed everyone who saw what happened.

Thankfully, Webber walked away unscathed.

And seems like FIA fell in the same trouble hole as FIFA with the controversy. While England’s score didn’t count in the World Cup , another English man tried to make it up by breaking the safety car rule  and finished second. Left behind an angry Spaniard Fernando Alonso of Ferrari, who played by book and finished 8th. Nothing from FIA yet while writing this article but I am pretty sure it won’t stop til the next British Grand Prix in July11.

Back to our STR team. Bravo for the points gained by Sebastian Buemi who finished 9th. Though Buemi did not seem to be happy with the result, both the disappointing last lap he let Kobayashi passed (too easily) , and the Safety car incident. The team were happy with the overall result and hope to do better in Britain ! Go go STR!
